Bed bugs
Bed bugs are light brown to reddish-brown, flattened, oval shaped and have no hind wings. Their front wings are useless and reduced to pad-like structures. Bed bugs have segmented abdomens with microscopic hairs that give them a banded appearance.
Adults grow to 4–5mm in length and 1.5–3mm wide. Newly hatched nymphs are see-through, lighter in colour and become browner as they moult and reach maturity.
How the work is undertaken: Mattress ribbing is inspected & treated. Cracks and crevices in bed frames, floors and skirting board are inspected and treated in the infected rooms.
